Scope of application
Biochemical oxygen demand BOD5 is a mandatory test item in water quality assessment and an important quality indicator for measuring the pollution of water by organic matter. The BOD5 meter is a new type of instrument that uses the air pressure difference method to determine biochemical oxygen demand . It provides accurate results comparable to those obtained by chemical dilution methods , and features intuitive readings, clear biochemical reaction curves, and ease of use and maintenance, making it an ideal tool for analytical work. It can be widely used in environmental monitoring, petrochemicals, and other fields. Water quality monitoring is conducted by departments such as medical and health care, teaching and research, and domestic wastewater monitoring .

a.The instrument should be placed in a well-ventilated place, free from strong electromagnetic interference, direct exposure to strong light, and large power fluctuations. Ideally, the laboratory should be equipped with a regulated power supply and a good grounding wire.
b. Open all the instrument packaging boxes, put the stirrer into the incubator, place the main instrument on the incubator, and connect them with the dedicated connecting cable.
c.Post-experiment cleaning: After the measurement is completed, clean according to the following steps.
1. Culture flask
Rinse the culture flask several times with hot water, clean the deposits on the inner wall of the flask with hot soapy water and a brush, and rinse several times with clean water .
2. Stirring tool
Clean the stir bar with detergent solution and rinse it thoroughly.
3. Sealed cup
Wipe off the applied vacuum silicone ester, wash away any residue and CO2 absorbent with a cleaning solution, rinse thoroughly and dry.
Note: The inner surface of the culture flask stopper is often contaminated with sealing oil. The inner surface must be wiped clean, and the vacuum silicone grease at the contact point between the connector and the sealing cup must be removed.
